For NEW members: please attend our first general meeting.
For those who CANNOT attend any meetings, you MUST:
- (1) Send an email to the PPS secretary (ullppssecretary@gmail.com) that you cannot attend any meetings.
- (2) Place $15 in an envelope labeled "PPS Membership Dues" with your NAME, CLID, CLASSIFICATION.
- (3) Turn in the envelope to Dr. Bruce Felgenhauer in Billeaud Hall Room 235, or in his mailbox in the main office of Billeaud Hall (Room 106).
- (4) You will be considered an active member, considering you are doing your volunteer hours and paid this membership due.
General Responsibilities of Members:
- (1) Attend all meetings. You can only miss ONE meeting.
- (2) Submit proof of 12 volunteer hour per semester and attend two group volunteer activity (of at least 2 hours of your 12 hours) through PPS per semester. More information here!
- (3) Dues are $15 per semester and must be paid by the second general meeting of the semester.
- (4) Meetings are generally held on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm in Billeaud Hall Room 117.
- (5) At the general meetings, please dress professionally or scrubs (for those who are coming from work)!
Benefits of Membership:
- Recommendation letter from the Pre-Professional Committee to your schools of choice.
- Hear and ask questions of our guest speakers (local physicians and other heath care providers, professional school students, members of the UL-Lafayette Pre-Professional Committee, Deans from Professional Schools (Medical, Dental, Allied Health, Optometry, Physician's Assistants, etc.))
- Active members during both Fall and Spring are allowed to speak with the Deans from Professional Schools one-on-one. The active members list will be updated accordingly each semester. If you have any questions, please email the PPS officers.
- Access to materials and information on standardized admissions tests.
- Meet students with similar interests.
- Occasional field trips to visit professional schools.
- Group volunteer projects.
